How Cogeneration works

WHAT IS

CHP

CHP technology is widely used across a range of sectors, from small units operating in leisure centres to larger systems serving the needs of education, healthcare and industrial manufacturing.

Compared to conventional generation, it is a more efficient and is the best use of any fuel source – usually natural gas. Cogeneration provides significant savings on your energy costs, due to the increasing disparity between the cost of mains natural gas, and the cost of the imported grid electricity.

While all energy costs will increase over time the use of lean burn, extremely efficient engines, and the subsequent recovery of the generated heat, will provide energy cost security for many years to come.
